Steiner & Althans & Nisbet
This great 20" bear was created by Steiner of Germany. Steiner has a long tradition of manufacturing quality teddy bears. In 1997 (the year I adopted this bear) they were selected to manufacture the commenorative bear given to the delegates attending the '1997 Teddy Bar Total' gathering. The broad face, growler, and antique gold mohair are all evidence of a traditional Germany teddy bear. This has been captured with the same old-world quality craftsmanship of past, giving this bear his distinctive character.
He is in mint condition with all tags (tush tag and manufacturer's tag). His tag reads: 055/223
His retail price in 1997 was $192.
This is a vintage limited edition set from Althans of West Germany. They are hand signed and numbered on their paw (writing is faded, but legible. The number is 40/60). They are deep chocolate brown mohair. The larger bear has the Althans tag on his chest- little bear's tag has been removed. They have growlers. The bears are 19" & 15" tall.
Price is for the pair.
