Dean's
including Michaud Collection
Tommy's Bear
From the famed Michaud collection.  Hand made in Great Britian by the Dean's Rag Book Co.
His story:  "In a southern Michigan antique shop during the late 1970's, Terry and Doris Michaud discovered a forlorn teddy dressed in a red shirt and faded blue trousers. In his pocket he carried a hanky with a monogrammed letter 'T'.  The gentleman who brought the bear to the antique shoe, a kindly soul of 80 plus years, explained that the bear had been purchased in 1924 for his son Tommy.  As Tommy grew into manhood, the bear was placed in the attic for safekeeping. After graduation from high school, Tommy went off to serve his country. The elderly gentleman's eyes filled with tears as he told the Michaud's that Tommy was killed on the beaches of Normandy during WWII."
The original Tommy's Bear has a very special place in the Michaud's Antique Bear Collection.  This replica of that bear is in mint condition and is of a limited edition of only 350 pieces. He is fully jointed and 19" tall.  He has his swing tag and his tush tag with his number (80).  His original retail price in 1997 was $285.
